How do I solve today's case?
Open Today and tap Begin investigation. Read the clues, then switch to Grid: tap a square once to rule it out, twice to confirm it, and a third time to clear it. When you know who was at the crime scene, with what and why, tap Accuse. You have three accusations.
Why are some days harder than others?
Cases get harder through the week. Monday and Tuesday have 3 suspects, Wednesday to Friday have 4, and Saturday and Sunday have 5, with trickier clues toward Sunday. Everyone gets the same case on the same date.
How do hints work?
Tap Hint on the case board. A hint first corrects a wrong mark on your grid; if every mark is right, it inks in one true link. Each daily case comes with 2 free hints, and Case Files gives you unlimited hints.
What does Case Files include, and how do I restore it?
Case Files opens every past daily case in the Archive, the three Seasons and unlimited hints. Choose yearly, which starts with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime unlock. On a new device, open Detective ▸ Settings (gear icon) ▸ Restore Purchases. To cancel the yearly plan, use the Settings app on your iPhone ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions.
How do I share my result without spoilers?
When a case is closed, open Verdict and tap Share result. It shows one row of squares for each accusation (who, how and why), plus your hints, time and streak, and never names a suspect, place or motive.
How do I change or stop the Morning Post?
Open Detective ▸ Settings (gear icon) ▸ Morning Post to turn it off or choose a delivery time. If notifications are off for Casebook, allow them in the Settings app on your iPhone.
Do I need an account?
No. Casebook works without signing in.
Where is my data kept?
On your device. We don’t have a copy, so we can’t recover it if you delete the app; keep your device backed up.
How do I restore my purchases?
Detective ▸ Settings (gear icon) ▸ Restore Purchases, and Restore Purchases at the bottom of the Case Files screen. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If your purchase still doesn’t appear, email us.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions ▸ Casebook, then Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Detective ▸ Settings (gear icon) ▸ Erase all progress deletes every case, streak and rank on this device. Your settings stay. Deleting the app removes everything. Deleting Casebook from your device removes what it keeps in its own storage.
