What can I do with Palimpsest?
- Import conversations from screenshots (text is read on the device), chat export files or the Share sheet.

Does Palimpsest send my conversations anywhere?
Not unless you turn on Enable AI synthesis in Settings ▸ Drafting & interpretation. Then the reviewed conversation text is sent in full, not redacted, to OpenAI through Palimpsest's relay, or straight to OpenAI if you add your own key. Scores and flags are always computed on your device.
How do I keep my records off iCloud?
Turn on Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Local-only storage. It takes effect the next time you open the app.
Can I use my own OpenAI key?
Yes. Turn on Enable AI synthesis, open Advanced and turn on Use my own OpenAI key. The key stays in this device's Keychain, and requests go directly to OpenAI on your account with no monthly allowance.
How do I add a conversation?
Tap Add conversation on Today and choose screenshots or a chat export, or use Send to Palimpsest from the Share sheet in another app. Text is read on your device, and you review it before it is saved.
Do I need an account?
No. Palimpsest works without signing in.
Where is my data kept?
Some of it on our server, as described in the Privacy Policy; the rest, and in your own iCloud account.
How do I restore my purchases?
Settings ▸ Subscription ▸ See Palimpsest Pro (or Manage Palimpsest Pro) ▸ Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If your purchase still doesn’t appear, email us.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions ▸ Palimpsest, then Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings ▸ Your data ▸ Delete everything. This also removes your records from your private iCloud database. A single connection can be deleted from its reading screen. Deleting Palimpsest from your device removes what it keeps in its own storage; data in your iCloud account can be removed in Settings ▸ your name ▸ iCloud. If you've bought something, a random purchase identifier that the app keeps in the iOS Keychain can stay on the device after the app is deleted, so your purchases can be matched again; it doesn't identify you. The relay keeps no content. Delete everything removes the install's random relay ID from your device. The monthly request count stored under that ID is not deleted by the app, but it is no longer used.
