Shadow Companion Codex Privacy Policy
In short
- Data not collected. Shadow Companion Codex doesn’t send your personal information to us or to anyone else. What you enter stays on your device.
- No tracking and no ads. Shadow Companion Codex doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites and doesn’t show ads.

Who we are
Shadow Companion Codex is published by Marketgence Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Shadow Companion Codex on your iPhone or iPad. Questions: [email protected].
What stays on your device
Shadow Companion Codex keeps these on your device, in the app’s own storage that other apps can’t read:
- Your familiars, summons, quests, ritual history and Inner Sanctuary entries (in a database on the device).
- Settings such as theme, Sanctuary lock, sounds, haptics and nudge time.
- A small snapshot for the widgets (familiar names, trust and stage, today's ritual), kept in a container shared only with the app's own widgets.
- A record of your Moonlit membership purchase, kept in the device Keychain.
We don’t receive this information and can’t see it.
Like other app data, it may be included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you use them.
What leaves your device
Nothing that identifies you. Shadow Companion Codex doesn’t send your personal information to us or to third parties. In App Store terms, the app’s privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Permissions
Shadow Companion Codex asks for these only when you use the feature that needs them. You can change your answer at any time in the Settings app.

Tracking, ads and analytics
Shadow Companion Codex doesn’t track you: it doesn’t link information about you with information from other companies’ apps, websites or data brokers, and it doesn’t use an advertising identifier.
Shadow Companion Codex doesn’t show ads.
It has no analytics or crash-reporting services. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may share crash reports with us; Apple doesn’t include your identity.
Accounts
There are no accounts in Shadow Companion Codex. You don’t sign in or give us your name or email address.
Purchases
Shadow Companion Codex offers auto-renewable subscriptions and one-time purchases through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment and knows what you bought; we don’t receive your name, email address or payment details. The app checks what you’ve bought on your device with Apple’s StoreKit. Apple’s Privacy Policy applies to the purchase.
Children
Shadow Companion Codex isn’t directed at children under 13, and it doesn’t collect personal information from anyone.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
Information on your device stays until you delete it. You can delete it in the app: Codex ▸ Settings (gear) ▸ Your data ▸ Delete all data (removes familiars, summons, quests and Sanctuary entries). Deleting Shadow Companion Codex removes the information it keeps in its own storage on your device; copies in your backups remain until you delete those. If you've bought something, a random purchase identifier that the app keeps in the iOS Keychain can stay on the device after the app is deleted, so your purchases can be matched again; it doesn't identify you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to know what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, and to object to how it’s used. Because Shadow Companion Codex keeps your information on your device, you can see, change and delete it in the app. To make a request or a complaint, email [email protected]. You can also contact your local data-protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Shadow Companion Codex handles information, we’ll update this page and its effective date, and list the change below.
- : First version on apps.marketgence.com, replacing the rork.live policy. That page wrongly said RevenueCat managed memberships (purchases are checked with Apple on the device) and described adding moodboard images from your photo library, which the app doesn't do; Photos is used only to save a plate you choose.
