Observatory Privacy Policy
In short
- Observatory keeps your information on your device. Some data leaves your device only for the features described under “What leaves your device”, and only when you use them.
- No tracking and no ads. Observatory doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites and doesn’t show ads.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services are built in.
- No account: you don’t sign in, and we don’t know who you are.
Who we are
Observatory is published by Marketgence Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Observatory on your iPhone or iPad. Questions: [email protected].
What stays on your device
Observatory keeps these on your device, in the app’s own storage that other apps can’t read:
- Your connections, imported messages, notes, plans, milestones, memories, drafts and readings.
- Imported screenshots, only if you turn on “Keep the screenshots I import”.
- Your settings, cloud-analysis choice and source exclusions.
We don’t receive this information and can’t see it.
Like other app data, it may be included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you use them.
What leaves your device

Services we use
These outside services receive data from Observatory to make it work. Each handles that data under its own privacy policy.
- Rork (Rork Toolkit AI proxy)
- Receives each cloud-analysis request, handles billing for AI use and forwards the request to the Vercel AI Gateway. What it receives: The full request: the selected message text and records, your question or draft, and the task instructions, plus normal request data such as IP address. Only after you enable cloud analysis. The app's own disclosure says Rork may keep processing records, including request content, for billing and diagnostics. See Rork's policy. - Vercel (AI Gateway)
- Routes each request to a provider that serves the Claude model. What it receives: The same request content as above. Only after you enable cloud analysis. The app asks for zero data retention. The app's disclosure says Vercel deletes prompt and response content after completion and may keep request metadata for up to 30 days. See Vercel's documentation.
- Anthropic (Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Haiku 4.5)
- Writes the readings, reports, answers and reply drafts, and a second pass checks each one against your sources. What it receives: The selected message text and records, your question or draft, and the task instructions. Only after you enable cloud analysis. The app requests no prompt training and zero data retention, but can't guarantee it for every provider route; see Anthropic's policy. Privacy policy: anthropic.com.
Artificial intelligence
Optional cloud analysis: contextual readings of a connection, conversation reports, answers to your questions, reply drafts, and filing of past AI responses. It uses Anthropic (Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Haiku 4.5) through Rork Toolkit proxy and the Vercel AI Gateway. It’s off until you choose to use it. When you use it, this is sent: For one connection at a time: reviewed message text with sender roles, dates and import details, your entries, plans, milestones, confirmed memories, agreements, needs, closeness check-ins and relationship status, plus your question, instructions or draft. No screenshots, images or audio. The service generates the answer and may keep request records under its own policy. Don’t include anything you wouldn’t want processed this way.

Permissions
Observatory asks for these only when you use the feature that needs them. You can change your answer at any time in the Settings app.

Tracking, ads and analytics
Observatory doesn’t track you: it doesn’t link information about you with information from other companies’ apps, websites or data brokers, and it doesn’t use an advertising identifier.
Observatory doesn’t show ads.
It has no analytics or crash-reporting services. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may share crash reports with us; Apple doesn’t include your identity.
Accounts
There are no accounts in Observatory. You don’t sign in or give us your name or email address.
Purchases
Observatory has no in-app purchases.
Children
Observatory isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. Made for adults reflecting on dating and close relationships; not directed to children.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
Information on your device stays until you delete it. You can delete it in the app: Today ▸ profile button ▸ Your data ▸ Delete everything in this app. You can also delete a single connection from its page, or delete all stored screenshots. Deleting Observatory removes the information it keeps in its own storage on your device; copies in your backups remain until you delete those.

Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to know what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, and to object to how it’s used. Because Observatory keeps your information on your device, you can see, change and delete it in the app. To make a request or a complaint, email [email protected]. You can also contact your local data-protection authority.

If we change how Observatory handles information, we’ll update this page and its effective date, and list the change below.
