Whispering Quill Privacy Policy
In short
- Data not collected. Whispering Quill doesn’t send your personal information to us or to anyone else. What you enter stays on your device.
- No tracking and no ads. Whispering Quill doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites and doesn’t show ads.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services are built in.
- No account: you don’t sign in, and we don’t know who you are.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Who we are
Whispering Quill is published by Marketgence Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Whispering Quill on your iPhone or iPad. Questions: [email protected].
What stays on your device
Whispering Quill keeps these on your device, in the app’s own storage that other apps can’t read:
- Journal pages: your writing, drawings, choices, tags and dates.
- Saved share cards and portraits, desk choices and time spent on pages.
- Preferences: optional name, reminder time, journal lock, soundscapes and your age confirmation.
- The home-screen widget's copy of the day's published prompts (never your writing).
- Temporary PDF and share-card files you create for export.
- An anonymous purchase identifier and purchase checks, kept in the Keychain.
We don’t receive this information and can’t see it.
Like other app data, it may be included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you use them.
What leaves your device
Nothing that identifies you. Whispering Quill doesn’t send your personal information to us or to third parties. In App Store terms, the app’s privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Artificial intelligence
In Threads, "Reflect on my recent words" asks Apple's on-device model to pick one line, word for word, from your recent writing (iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence). Elsewhere your most recent line is shown without AI. It can be turned off in Settings ▸ Local reflections. This runs on your device with Apple’s on-device model; your text isn’t sent anywhere for it.
Permissions
Whispering Quill asks for these only when you use the feature that needs them. You can change your answer at any time in the Settings app.

Tracking, ads and analytics
Whispering Quill doesn’t track you: it doesn’t link information about you with information from other companies’ apps, websites or data brokers, and it doesn’t use an advertising identifier.
Whispering Quill doesn’t show ads.
It has no analytics or crash-reporting services. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may share crash reports with us; Apple doesn’t include your identity.
Accounts
There are no accounts in Whispering Quill. You don’t sign in or give us your name or email address.
Purchases
Whispering Quill offers one-time purchases through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment and knows what you bought; we don’t receive your name, email address or payment details. The app checks what you’ve bought on your device with Apple’s StoreKit. Apple’s Privacy Policy applies to the purchase.
Children
Whispering Quill isn’t directed at children under 13, and it doesn’t collect personal information from anyone. Whispering Quill is designed for people 13 and older. It asks once for an age confirmation, which is stored only on the device.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
Information on your device stays until you delete it. You can delete it in the app: Settings ▸ Delete everything & start again removes your pages, drawings, cards, portraits, desk choices, preferences, reminder, widget data and temporary exports, then returns to onboarding. Apple purchases stay restorable; copies you exported or backed up are not affected. Deleting Whispering Quill removes the information it keeps in its own storage on your device; copies in your backups remain until you delete those. If you've bought something, a random purchase identifier that the app keeps in the iOS Keychain can stay on the device after the app is deleted, so your purchases can be matched again; it doesn't identify you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to know what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, and to object to how it’s used. Because Whispering Quill keeps your information on your device, you can see, change and delete it in the app. To make a request or a complaint, email [email protected]. You can also contact your local data-protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Whispering Quill handles information, we’ll update this page and its effective date, and list the change below.
- : First version on apps.marketgence.com. It replaces the pages at asdfi02gkml3tjobtk4ye-web.rork.live. The earlier policy said RevenueCat verifies purchases; the app doesn't use RevenueCat. Purchases are handled by Apple and checked on your device, and no other company receives purchase information from the app.
