What can I do with Whispering Quill?

How do I lock my journal?
Open Settings (the ⋯ button on the Desk tab) ▸ Privacy ▸ Lock journal. Whispering Quill then asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode when you come back to it. Changing the setting asks you to confirm too.
How do I set a daily reminder?
Settings ▸ Reminders ▸ Daily reminder, then pick a time. It is one local notification a day saying a quiet page is waiting; it never shows your writing.
How do I keep a copy of my writing?
From a saved page, tap Share this writing. In the Studio tab you can compose a Share Card, export a PDF keepsake or print a blank page. Nothing leaves the app unless you pick a destination in the share sheet.
What does "Reflect on my recent words" do?
In Threads, it picks one line, word for word, from your recent writing. On iOS 26 devices with Apple Intelligence the choice is made by Apple's on-device model; otherwise your most recent line is shown. Nothing is sent anywhere, and you can turn it off in Settings ▸ Local reflections.
Which workbooks are free?
Margins of Joy and the daily Common Thread are free. Inner Compass and Wonder Archive are one-time purchases, and Complete Library includes both. There are no subscriptions.
Do I need an account?
No. Whispering Quill works without signing in.
Where is my data kept?
On your device. We don’t have a copy, so we can’t recover it if you delete the app; keep your device backed up.
How do I restore my purchases?
Settings ▸ Collections ▸ Explore collections & restore purchases ▸ Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If your purchase still doesn’t appear, email us.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings ▸ Delete everything & start again removes your pages, drawings, cards, portraits, desk choices, preferences, reminder, widget data and temporary exports, then returns to onboarding. Apple purchases stay restorable; copies you exported or backed up are not affected. Deleting Whispering Quill from your device removes what it keeps in its own storage. If you've bought something, a random purchase identifier that the app keeps in the iOS Keychain can stay on the device after the app is deleted, so your purchases can be matched again; it doesn't identify you.
